Frank Woodruff Buckles was the last witness to the western front of the First World War. He passed away in 2011 at the age of 110, as the lone survivor of the Great War from the United States. (see FrankBuckles.org)
To the end of his life, Frank was an advocate for a National World War I Memorial in Washington, DC. Sadly, despite his efforts, Frank did not live to see the fruit of his efforts, though his supporters fight on for his cause.
As the world approaches the centennial of World War I, we are seeking a sponsor for this historic and pivotal film. This will be the story of how Frank's life has unfolded, from common to truly historic. The film will be narrated by Emmy® Award-winning actor Richard Thomas, who starred in The Waltons and All Quiet on the Western Front.
